Bars

Health is the green bar at the top middle. Hover it for a number. It regenerates unless starvation, dehydration, bleed, or a similar effect blocks it. The yellow bar under it is stamina. Hover that for a precise value and a percentage.

Stamina returns on its own. Sitting doubles that recovery. Laying multiplies it by four. Running, ambush, jump, dart, flight, takeoff, non-swimmer swimming, sprint-swimming, and glider flight-boost all spend it. At zero, those actions stop. Underwater, a non-aquatic at zero stamina takes drowning damage every second unless health is already under 5 percent.

Oxygen appears above health for creatures that can suffocate. Asphyxia from an empty oxygen bar is deadlier than stamina drowning. Moisture appears for creatures that dry out, and it stops damaging around half health.

The age bar is bottom right. Status icons sit in the status box. Click one, then the question mark, for the in-game explanation of that effect.

PC keys confirmed for Recode

Key Action
H Sniff. Marks food, water, and creatures.
M Map, including sources after a sniff.
E Eat, drink, or use the prompt. On a swimmer, E also overlaps swim-down, so Q can cancel the descent while eating.
K Creature card, survival stats, and this creature's control list.
F Toggle glide after flight has started.

Mobile uses on-screen buttons, including a sniff button. Xbox sniff is on Y in the control reference, and the interact button is X. The K menu's Controls tab lists the keys for the creature you are playing, which matters because a flier does not have a normal jump.

Fliers enter flight or glide instead of jumping. Takeoff and flapping spend stamina. Gliding does not. Not enough stamina means no takeoff. Some species replace flight with jump at a certain age. Read the card after you hit 33 and again at 66.

Radar

The top-right circle shows day or night, tide, season, weather, and biome. Migration areas get their own icon. Players who set location to everyone appear on it, and so do NPCs. During disasters, use the shelter icon before you trust a cave or a tree.

Combat logging, closing the game to escape a fight, drops meat, can award the attacker a kill, and removes 33 age. Menuing is also locked for a period after you are hit. Leave with the menu only when that lock is gone if you care about the age on the slot.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What should a new player do first?

Finish the Mylo tutorial, choose Kaluaka or Sochuri if you want a free omnivore, sniff for food and water, and complete one short loop before you fight. Open the creature card with K and learn that creature's diet.

Are there working Creatures of Sonaria codes?

The redeem window is in the menu, but no code was confirmed active in late September or early October 2026. COSYEAR5 and COSYEAR6 are expired. Treat any page that still calls them active as out of date.

How do I earn Shooms?

A living creature earns 5 Shooms every 2 minutes, which is 150 Shooms an hour if it never dies. Each completed region mission adds 4 Shooms. Shoom piles, some death rewards, and trades are other sources. Players often call Shooms mush because of the old beta name and chat filters.

When does Trade Realm unlock?

You need at least 10 owned species. Open Realms from the main menu. Trading does not work in the survival world. A species and a stored trial slot are different trade items.

What happens when my creature dies?

You return to the menu and can revive, restart, or delete the slot. Revive keeps age and mutations but not Death Points, and it costs a Revive Token. Restart wipes the slot. If you do not own the species, restart costs the male trial price, or ten times that for a female. Storage slots lock for two minutes after death.

What is Elder?

At age 100 you can choose to Elder. The age bar then counts toward 200 and turns purple. At 200 you can Venerate. A Max Growth Token sets age to 100 and cannot age a creature to 200.
